"The mission of the Alaska Gasline Port Authority is to enable the development of Alaska's North Slope gas to the maximum benefit of all Alaskans. Ownership of the pipeline by this type of organization will substantially lower the economics of such a venture to a degree necessary to make the development of the North Slope gas resources financially viable."
