Black Run Siding Rationalization
(The Pennsylvania Railroad had 198-car westbound and 193-car eastbound passing sidings between Bricker MP 142.7 and Black Run MP 144.7, in addition to the double track main line. Conrail rationalized the Panhandle by removing both sidings in addition to most of the westbound main line, but left portions of the westbound main line as passing sidings from MP 144.3 to the grade crossing at SR 586 near MP 144.9 [3123'], and from MP 145.1 to MP 147.45 [12,411'], about 2.5 miles from Hanover. The Genesee & Wyoming RR Co.'s Columbus & Ohio Central RR Co. c.mid-2010 shortened the "Black Run West Siding" by removing the switch at MP 147.45, and installing a new switch at about MP 145.5. The siding between MP 145.5 to MP 147.45 is disconnected from the main line and is an abandonment and liquidation candidate.)
